Las Mananitas a la Virgen de Guadalupe Today, Saturday, Dec. 12, is the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The feast day celebrations include mariachi and ‘Las Mañanitas’ performances. If you happen to be in San Antonio, Texas, here are some of the local celebrations that are open to the public:
24th Annual Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration -St. Matthew Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Road
The church’s annual Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration begins at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 12, with a presentation of the play ‘The Apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe,’ followed by a Mass at 2:30 p.m. and a fiesta at 4 p.m. Other feast day celebrations include Las Mañanitas at 7 a.m. with the rosary recited at 7:30 a.m. (210) 478-5000.
Noche Azul de Esperanza honors El Dia de la Virgen de Guadalupe – Esperanza Peace and Justice Center, 922 San Pedro Ave.
Local singer/songwriter Azul dedicates the December installment of her ongoing monthly music series to the feast day of La Virgen. Her performance is set for 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 12. The suggested donation for this café-style performance is $5. Concessions will be sold. (210) 228-0201.
