Arkham Has Moved : Rocksteady isn’t wasting time on taking advantage of Batman: Arkham Asylum’s incredible success. As Mark Hamill’s trademark Joker voice reverberated throughout the room, a new trailer premiered at the 2009 Spike Videogame Awards that seemingly confirms an Arkham Asylum sequel. Though no title was given, the website ArkhamHasMoved.com, which currently gives you a 404 error, should have more details soon.
What we do know is that Mark Hamill will return as Joker alongside his deliciously scantily-clad assistant, Harley Quinn. Gotham City is a chaotic mess with rioting gangs, and Joker has apparently taken over the Gotham Police Department. As a result of Arkham Asylum’s finale, the white-skinned maniac looks like he’s in rough shape — not only is he seemingly ill with a nasty cough, but his skin is grotesquely wrinkled and his makeup is a mess.
Look for more details on the unnamed game in the coming weeks.
Mitch’s Opinion I, like everyone else, adored Arkham Asylum, and am ecstatic that this announcement comes in the same year as the game was released. I don’t care if the visuals look the same, I just want more — and it seems like this follow-up is either going to span a greater area ofGotham, or the apparently-taken-over precinct. Whatever works. Give it to me now.
Nothing was blatantly said about the trailer being for a sequel, but the implications were heavy. Now let’s keep our fingers crossed that the game isn’t actually titled Arkham Has Moved.
